Filming in the Central Observing Station

The Berlin Tramway has got a central observing station for all lines with the most modern technical equipment which can be used for shooting.

Heart of this observing station are six screens which permit an overview on the whole tramway net of Berlin. Each screen measures 1,00 m by 0,75 m. They are animated for the tram system by a software application. There is also the possibility of showing video sequences at the same time, either from 6 video recorders set up to correspond or using PC animation. These clips may also be shown during operation, as long as the work of the tram operator is not impeded. There had already been successful film-shoots during operation. For a set period of time (some hours) our staff can have recourse to an "emergency control station".
