Filming in Palaces and Gardens
Berlin and Brandenburg have numerous palaces and gardens, most of them built and arranged by the Royal Family of Hohenzollern in the 17th and 18th century.
The parks in and around Potsdam, the former residence town of the Prussian kings, are worth seeing and the palaces of Sanssouci, Cecilienhof, Glienicke and Babelsberg world-famous. Since a couple of years ago they have been on UNESCO's World Heritage list.
Schloss Rheinsberg (palace) and its gardens, approx. 60 km north of Berlin, became famous with Tucholsky's novel from the 1920s.
The most significant complex in Berlin is Schloss Charlottenburg, an exquisite baroque palace with extensive French and English-style gardens, built in 18th century.
