Filming during major events in Berlin is generally not permitted due to the high number of expected passengers.
The approval period for filming is usually 14 days - for news and documentaries in a small team it can be also less.
For historical recordings and very complex recordings, for which professional advice is required, the deadline is extended to 4 to 6 weeks.
The costs depends on the project and are calculated on a case-by-case basis.
A bus costs approx. € 50 per hour. In addition, the driver is charged for at least three hours including arrival and departure.
Stops, the establishment of unscheduled stops or, if necessary, the rerouting of bus lines that are affected by filming are calculated according to kilometers.
The applicant will receive a cost estimate from the BVG in advance.
The BVG helps with historical recordings with specialist advice and arranges contacts with clubs that deal with the history of Berlin bus companies.
The respective depot manager decides on a filming permit on the premises of the depots, and the central office of the BVG bus and coach division on public roads.
