Filming in forests

Please note

To receive filming permits, the forms must be filled out in German. If you need assistance please find a list of production and location manager in our database.

Basics

Filming in forests must be coordinated in advance with the responsible forest authority and the respective forest owner. Large parts of Berlin and Brandenburg are owned by the respective state.

Berlin

Filming permits in forests are issued by the responsible forestry office. Specific filming on site must also be coordinated with them or the district foresters they have named. General advice on motifs can be obtained from the Landesforstamt Berlin.

Brandenburg

Approval for filming in Brandenburg's forests is granted by the Landesbetrieb Forst in consultation with the respective parts of the company (formerly forestry offices).

The central Landesbetrieb Forst Brandenburg can also provide information on the right contacts for private forests.

For the filming of rare and endangered animal species, a permit must be obtained from the species protection authority, unit Ö1, nature conservation department of the Brandenburg State Office for the Environment.
